We are a local homeschool support group dedicated to serving families who have chosen parent-directed home education as an alternative to public or private schooling.
Our mission is to help families connect with one another, share opportunities, and support each other throughout the homeschooling journey. Most of our activities take place between Little River and Shallotte, though we occasionally extend beyond that area.
Our members come from a variety of denominational backgrounds and homeschool for diverse reasons. What unites us is a shared desire to honor the Lord GOD through our families and the education of our children, as we seek to uphold biblical principles.
All homeschooling families are welcome to join us for any activity. Please know in advance that most of our members come from a Christian background and worldview—many of our events begin with prayer, and our conversations and encouragement often include faith-based perspectives.
Members are encouraged to plan field trips, classes, and other activities that meet their own families’ needs and to share those opportunities with the group. Like a family, we function best when everyone pitches in a little!

Classes & Activities
Parents are invited to plan classes, clubs, and field trips, and share within the group. We are in the beginning stages of starting a sports program.
SBCH offers a weekly co-op, with two semesters per year.

Support for Parents
SBCH hosts the annual Woven conference, offers a relaxed mentoring program, and holds frequent Moms' Night Out events. We also hold occasional, short workshops on homeschooling in SC and NC.
